Are there any other careers where I can use my law degree?

Law is a highly useful and valuable degree as it can be used in many fields of employment. You may not have considered legal work in the following categories.

Legal related work

Barristers' clerk, paralegal, licensed conveyancer, Criminal Prosecution Service, caseworker, company secretary, patent agent, trade mark agent, legal publisher, law librarian, legal adviser (e.g. magistrates' courts), legal recruitment consultant, employment tribunal caseworker, citizens advice / legal advice worker, mediator, court administration, human resources manager and social worker.

Legal education

Higher Education lecturer, Further Education lecturer, university researcher and secondary school teacher (citizenship).

Legal regulatory work

HM Revenue & Customs, health & safety inspector, immigration officer, tax inspector, trading standards officer, RSCPA inspector, police officer, prison officer, probation officer.

Other areas

Civil service, local government, NHS general management scheme, human resources, merchandising, transport & distribution, import/export-freight forwarder, trade unions, finance and accountancy, banking and insurance and retail management.
