'Prost' to the Oktoberfest success!

On Saturday the 6 October 2012, The Open University Business School Munich Community met to enjoy the Oktoberfest. The group of thirty alumni and guests enjoyed the prime location of the three reserved tables on the mezzanine floor of the Winzerer Fähndl/Paulaner tent.

Oktoberfest is a sixteen day beer festival held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. It runs from late September to the first weekend in October. Oktoberfest is one of the most famous events in Germany and attracts hundreds of visitors, many of whom dress in traditional costume for the event.

The OUBS group consisted of alumni, OUBS students, invited students, research candidates from other universities in Germany and the Netherlands, work colleagues and members of the diplomatic core of the South African Consulate. The diverse mix of nationalities and occupations was inspirational and reminds you of being part of the unique OUBS residential school in an international setting.

The Oktoberfest is a great opportunity to reconnect with old and new networks. The merry and festive atmosphere of drinks, food and music guarantee an amicable exchange of contact details, business ideas and proposals.

Oktoberfest is a popular event, and seats in the festival's 14 beer tents sell out weeks before the start of the celebration, so our thanks go to Manfred for arranging our participation at this event.
