Biography

Deneise worked as a researcher for over a decade, mainly undertaking market and customer research in the financial sector. She developed an interest in managing, measuring and improving performance in services, which intensified while she completed her MSc in Service Management at the University of Buckingham. As a management consultant, she created performance measurement and improvement systems for service organizations. Deneise's keen interest in managing, measuring and improving performance has led to her current PhD studies, where she will focus on performance measurement.

Current research

Performance Measurement: applying Return on Investment (ROI) in new domains

This exploratory study will research applications of a specific methodology for ROI within three contexts: i) workforce improvement, ii) health services, and iii) international development. It is being sponsored by abdi Ltd, a professional service firm that works with their clients to plan, measure and report project and programme benefits using their own ROI methodology.
