Biography

Elizabeth joined the Open University as an Associate Lecture in April 1999 and joined The Open University Business School staff as a Regional Academic in November 2006. In December 2007 she transferred from the Postgraduate Team to the Undergraduate Team and is now responsible for the BA Business Studies in the South. She is a course team member on Introduction to book-keeping and accounting (B190), Financial accounting (B291) and Management accounting (B292). She currently tutors on the Certificate in accounting (B680).

Prior to joining the Open University, Elizabeth spent 25 years in accountancy practice, where she trained as a Chartered Certified Accountant progressing from accounts junior to Audit Manager responsible for a portfolio of clients listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Alternative Investment Market. Whilst working in accountancy she held a number of offices with professional and social bodies these included President of the Southern District Society of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and Secretary of Southern Network of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Elizabeth is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a member of the Chartered Institute of Management, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Commerce and Manufacturing and a member of the Association of MBAs.
