Since joining the Open University in March 2002, Fenella has been involved in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programme delivery. Since 2007 she has been responsible for delivery and management of the globally delivered MBA programme which is supported through online tuition.
Fenella has worked in Higher Education for over 25 years, for and with leading Business Schools in the UK and overseas. She has also worked as an independent consultant to various industries in the area of online learning, for example establishing virtual business schools and Corporate Universities, designing and developing online courses, and training others in online instructional design and virtual tutoring. For several years Fenella managed development and operation of online learning at Henley Management College where she led the design, implementation, management and ongoing development of the College's e-learning facilities.
She has published in various journals and presented papers at conferences in the UK and overseas. In 2008 she co-authored 2 papers which were presented at the 3rd International Conference on E-Learning in Capetown. These followed research into effective online tutoring skills and the use of reflective online learning journals.
Fenella has a Masters Degree in Online and Distance Education, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the RSA.
My current research interests include online learning and collaboration, online communities, and effective online tutoring skills.
