Biography

I started out as a computer programmer with Midland Bank moving on to the electronics industry where I spent two years as an analyst. I then went into the public sector where I worked as an accountant for seven years. An interest in taxation took me to Ernst and Young where I spent nine years as a tax consultant. After that I moved to BPP, working in its publishing division, and remaining there for six years. During that time I was a book range manager and technical author writing materials for accountancy students and specialising in management and management accounting.

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Birmingham, an MBA from the Bradford University School of Management and an MSc in Management Learning and Change from the University of Bristol. In addition I am a Chartered Public Finance Accountant.
