Biography

Olga graduated with LLB (Hons.) from University of Wales, Aberystwyth. In addition to her role as a Lecturer in Law at Open University, Olga is pursuing a PhD in International Law at Aberystwyth University. Her thesis aims analyse the response mechanisms of international law to the impact of armed conflicts on women. 

In 2012, Olga was awarded a Diploma in International Humanitarian Law by the International Committee of the Red Cross (Geneva). 

Teaching interests

Prior to joining Open University, Olga taught Family and Child Law, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, International Law and Introduction to Criminology at the Department of Law and Criminology at Aberystwyth University. She also taught law to overseas students on pre-University courses.

 Public International Law, Law and Gender, International Humanitarian Law, Women's Rights, Human Rights, International Criminal Law, International Refugee Law

 

 

Impact and engagement

Olga is a member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Gender Studies

In November 2012, Olga was invited by Elmadag Law Firm and IHH Humanitarian Relief Organisation to act as an observer on the Mavi Marmara trial (Istanbul, Turkey).

In May 2012, Olga co-organized (with Dr Anel Boshoff and Prof. Ryszard Piotrowicz) a conference "Women in War and at War" (Aberystwyth University, 11-12 May 2012).
