The 5-minute interview...Why did you choose to study with the OU Business School? Web forums suggested that the course material was the best, especially in terms of integration with the workplace.
What was the best thing about studying with the School? The study groups and residential schools, which gave me the opportunity to meet and share ideas with others.
Why did you choose your particular course (Al has completed the Certificate, Diploma and MBA)? I have to complete a Masters in Research of Business and Management as a path to Research PhD with the OU.
Which aspects of the course have you found particularly beneficial since leaving? The outlook on life in general has changed, the way I interact with my family and work colleagues has been enriched with the MBA learning specially from Creativity.
The content so far has provided great insight into why management decisions where I work, are made and why they sometimes fail its employees.
What are your plans for the future? I’d like to do a Research Doctorate with the OU and give something back into the academic world. Like new management theory shaped by corporate social media!
Have you recommended the OU Business School to a friend/colleague/family member? Yes, several people – anyone with commitment and determination can achieve so much.
Do you have any advice or wisdom to pass on to other former or prospective students? Do not underestimate the commitment but at the same time use what is learnt immediately and that makes the workload lighter.
The Open University, together with international partners, offers its MBA and many other programmes across the globe.
