I completed my OU MBA in 2006, after studying for just over 4 years

During my time in the MBA programme, I was made redundant, found another ‘stepping stone’ role, before moving to a great company, who supported me through the remainder of my MBA. It was this time that things really started to happen for me. The real life application of the themes studied at the OU truly helped me to apply the learning to real life scenarios. During the course of my study, I found myself moving up the career ladder much quicker than I expected.

Ultimately, before I had even completed my MBA, I was posted to run a small group company following the departure of the General Manager. This occurred only two years into my time with my employer. I believe this rapid progression was primarily attributable to my MBA course.

Subsequently, I have further progressed, in 2007 being ‘acquired’ by another company in the same industry. I now run that company and have taken it from an autocratic organisation to a fluid and thriving business that has embraced being given accountability at all levels.

I firmly believe the OU MBA programme has contributed much to my ongoing success.
