Through our partners, we continue to share knowledge and our world-leading resources with the six Open Universities in China. We work with Higher Education Institutes in China to develop tailor-made solutions which help build local capability and capacity in delivering supported blended learning.
Our solutions involve both in-country and UK-based training sessions; the styles and content of these sessions are based on the needs of the specific partner and are bespoke to them. We also conduct academic exchanges between The Open University and our partners, involving conferences and scholar visits to conduct research which is pertinent to specific subjects and to the wider theme of supported blended learning.
To date, 79,000 students have studied for local qualifications using Open University resources.
Since 2000, there have been almost 1.5 million users of The Open University module ‘This is English’ – a programme that aids language and cultural development.
