  • Content: The quality of our teaching is reflected in our materials and course content. We offer more than 600 learning modules across a range of subjects, and two-thirds of the UK’s 100 biggest universities use our course materials to teach their own students.
  • Resources: Employees who learn with The Open University have access to a wealth of online resources including podcasts, broadcasts, computer software and interactive teaching materials, as well a dedicated website for the module(s) they’re studying.
  • Online platforms: As pioneers of distance learning, we use the latest digital technology to deliver effective training solutions wherever possible. For example, our virtual learning environment allows learners to connect with their tutor and other learners online. Our OU Anywhere app enables learners to download their studies online or offline, allowing for a truly flexible learning experience.
  • Online delivery: We deliver much of our training online. The advantages of online delivery are many, including maximum flexibility and minimum disruption. When staff learn online, little time needs to be taken out of work to attend training courses. This, in turn, encourages productivity.
