Amazing people,
places and discoveries

What does it take to get you inspired?
When it comes to working at the forefront of progress, it doesn't get much better than The Open University. In the last year alone we brought the Moon to Milton Keynes, launched a cool evolution tool which featured on Stephen Fry's Twitter, and saw our Vice Chancellor voted the UK's most inspiring woman.
The Open University on the telly. It's not just beards and science labs these days you know
We work with the BBC to produce exciting and insightful programmes such as our recent series on Darwin, Coast and The Money Programme for which we managed to scoop an exclusive interview with tough talking Sir Alan Sugar.
Want to go places? How about Mars or Saturn?
From putting robots on Mars to collecting unique data from the surface of Saturn's largest moon, our scientists work at the cutting edge of space exploration. Oh, and did we mention that recently Open University astronomers helped to discover 10 (!) new planets using state of the art cameras? Who says you shouldn't promise the moon and the stars?
Love iTunes and YouTube?
Not as much as we do
Did you know that we're one of the first UK universities to offer free downloadable course materials and research items via iTunes U? And we've got our very own channels on YouTube and Facebook!
