Wendy says: If there was one piece of advice I would give to new students, I think it would be to start planning early, and as early as possible.

A lot of people undertake further study in order to enhance their career prospects, in order to progress in the current career that they're in.

These are all really good reasons and I think for those reasons it's important that you start planning early. Never leave it to the last minute. Never leave it to the end of your course before you decide where you're going to go and what you're going to do, because it can be too late and it may mean that you have to take some extra years to to get to where you want to go. So my advice would be, plan early.

Ellen says: The single most important piece of advice that I would give to OU students would be don't underestimate the value of the skills that you're developing as a result of your OU study.

You'll develop your confidence but you will unlock your potential. Good luck.
