What we offer students

To find out the range of services we offer, go to the top bar and click on ‘Services’.

If you’re a registered student, you can access a number of services from here, using your OU computer username and password.

Take our ‘Employer Showcase’, for instance.

This contains details of employers who are keen to recruit OU students.

Click on an employer icon for a profile of the organisation, key facts about the employer and a link to their graduate recruitment site.

The ‘Employer showcase’ doesn’t include information on specific vacancies but you can find out about these through another of our services.

Our ‘Online vacancy service’ is provided in partnership with Graduate Prospects, the UK’s official graduate careers website.

You can search for jobs by type or location and receive email alerts for new vacancies matching your criteria.

To receive online information and guidance on career-related topics, have a look at our ‘Forums’.

You’ll find a list of up-and-coming online forums on a range of topics. Most remain open for a month but you can continue to read the posts for about a year afterwards.

Our ‘Features’ section also has some material specially for OU students.

If you’re interested in advice from employers who have recruited OU graduates, go to ‘What employers say’.

You’ll find video and audio clips with insights from employers on the recruitment process and the value of OU study.

Another feature to explore is in ‘Applying for jobs’.

It’s an ‘Interview simulation’ only available to registered OU students.   

It allows you to face a practice interview panel online, and get advice on how to answer their questions.

It’s a way to develop your interview skills in a safe environment and you can practise as many times as you need.
