In partnership with The Open University, the Denbigh Teaching School Alliance is recruiting a number of teacher trainees on their School Direct programme.

This is a tremendous opportunity for graduates interested in secondary school teaching of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish and German) to achieve a PGCE and QTS with ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ providers.

Students will follow the Open University PGCE, completing at least 23 weeks of school-based training in Milton Keynes schools attached to the Denbigh Teaching School Alliance.

To apply you will need to

  • produce original certificates confirming that you have a degree in which at least one half (but preferably two thirds) is in the subject you wish to teach and that you have at least a grade C in English and Mathematics at GCSE level or an equivalent qualification.
  • be able to demonstrate that you have appropriate skills, knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for teaching young people and teaching your subject.

An informal information evening will be held at Denbigh School on Wednesday 30th May 2012 from 7 - 8 pm.  To sign up for the information evening or request a copy of the prospectus and application form, call Val Hawthorne on 01908 330527.  Deadline for applications: Thurs 7 June 2012.

The training will begin in September 2012.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview on Wednesday 4 July 2012.  Successful candidates will undergo an enhanced CRB check.
