From a careers advice perspective, employers have always said to me that they will always interview an OU graduate because anyone who can achieve an OU qualification is a certain kind of person.

Vacancies

If you have a vacancy for an OU student or graduate, you can input the vacancy details directly to our database yourself by registering with Graduate Prospects.

Please note: A new online vacancy system is now in operation. If you registered on the system before 15th June 2011, we regret that you will need to re-register to use the system. Any vacancies posted on the old system prior to 15th June were automatically transferred to the new system.

Raise your profile

If you want to raise your company's profile and generate interest in your vacancies, you could consider registering with our Employer Showcase. This is a protected area of the site. You can gain access by sending an email request for a password to SS-CAS-Careers@open.ac.uk.

Other options include

  • getting involved with online discussion forums with students and with other projects
  • sponsoring our publications
  • making links with alumni and other student organisations
  • making links with faculty staff
  • telling us about previous students or graduates you have employed, or how you value the skills developed by staff you have sponsored through OU study. We can use these quotes in our publications, student newspaper articles, on our website and on other publicity materials.

If you would like to discuss any of the above, contact the OU Careers Advisory Service.
