This seminar, organised by the FarComm Research Programme, is concerned with the study of generations and intergenerational transmissions. Its aim is to explore the value of ‘generation’ as an analytical tool and how it is used in different disciplines and policy contexts. The seminar will be of methodological, conceptual and theoretical interest to those undertaking studies of personal lives across time and place, and will offer opportunities for discussion, inter alia, of generational identities, collective memory and social change.
