This session will explore how do you decide which journals you publish in.

This seminar is part of our CCIG/OS series. Don’t hesitate to bring your lunch!

Journal ranking is now commonly used in the evaluation of an academic journal’s impact and quality.  But how to understand impact factors? How does a citation index work?  What are the various tools to measure your publications’ impact (Scimago, ISI, Publish or Perish, etc.). Are these elements critical for choosing where to publish?

This session will explore the following:

How do you decide which journals you publish in?

Journal ranking (impact factors) and citations
