2013 as the European Year of Citizens is a time to reflect on the current crisis and the future of European citizenship. The aim of the morning session at the European Parliament (10:00-12:30) is to hold a debate on how European citizenship is constructed, and how it can become genuinely open. The afternoon conference at the European Economic and Social Committee (13:30-17:30) will open a dialogue between academics and activists on a wide range of issues, such as migration, security, feminism, democracy.

The event is organised within the framework of the European Year of Citizens 2013 Alliance and in collaboration with European Alternatives.

For more information, see attached the preliminary conference programme.

Registration for this event is required. Please email Oecumene-Project@open.ac.ukmailto:Oecumene-Project@open.ac.uk.
