As part of CEPSAR’s commitment to developing the very best talent in our scientific areas we will occasionally accept students for MSc by research. Msc by research requires you to undertake a piece of original research but restricted in scope such that you are able to write up and present a thesis within 1 year of the start of registration.
Applicants who wish to undertake an MSc by research (1 year) because they wish to obtain some research experience before making a decision on starting a PhD, must have a first degree in a relevant subject at upper second class or higher. They should identify potential project areas from the PhD project list and send a CV and supporting information as for PhD applicants. Ideally it would be a good idea to contact the Director of CEPSAR, Professor Simon Kelley, who will be able to put you into contact with the right potential supervisors. If the supervisor is able to offer an exciting project to suit MSc level then we can talk further about the possibility of registering for an MSc in CEPSAR.
