Chemistry

Your OU chemistry modules integrate organic, inorganic and physical chemistry themes, enabling you to explore processes and interactions at the atomic and molecular level. With the help of multimedia materials, you will gain an understanding of chemistry and its applications, from thermodynamics and the reactions of metals to the role of chemistry in agriculture and industry. Through a series of case studies, you will examine topics of current interest such as polymers, fuel cells, catalysis, drug design, liquid crystals and forensic science. You will also take part in Residential Schools to gain more hands on experience.
