The Open University and The Football League Trust have teamed up to deliver an exciting new degree which looks at business through the lens of the football industry, the BA (Hons) Business Management (Sport and Football).

The degree is ideal for:

  • Fans with an interest in both football and business, aspiring to earn a business degree.
  • Those looking to enhance their career with a supporting qualification in Business and Management.
  • People considering a career change and wanting to study Business and Management to help them achieve that goal.
  • Those already working within the football industry or community organisations who want to underpin their football experience with an education in Business and Management.

Using case studies and examples from the football industry students will develop skills and understanding of business, management, training and sport. Studies will use film, text and online materials to apply theory to real world situations. Students in England and Wales will also attend workshops at Football League stadia to gain an understanding of the complex operations of a professional club. This qualification is currently only available in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
