What's in the library?

Our brand new Learning Library is home to our interactive FlexiLearn Bite materials, which are freely available to anyone interested in getting a taste of what OU learning is like.
They have been specifically designed for UNISON members and Learning Reps in response to what you've been telling us about your learning needs and ambitions. You told us that you you wanted "a taste of OU learning, that you can access any time, any place, that is relevant to your job, and your own personal and professional development needs". We listened and the Learning Library is the result!
How does it work?
When you visit the library, you'll see that the materials have been helpfully divided into two sections; DIY Bites for individuals looking to work through the materials on their own, in their own time and Discussion Bites which have been specifically designed for you to use as the basis for workplace, or branch-based discussion or group-learner activities.
The bank of resources is relatively modest at the moment, but over time we hope to build on this, developing more flexible learning materials that respond to current sector, educational and vocational priorities. At present, you'll find Bites focussing on Health and Social Care and Education, plus a number of resources that have been taken from our current Openings Courses which look specifically at building and enhancing IT skills.

If you can't find what you're looking for, or you've got suggestions for changes or additions to the materials, why not get in touch with us by sending us an email to hsc-unison@open.ac.uk Your suggestion could end up being the topic of the next FlexiLearn Bite!
