Roles and responsibilities

You, as the learner, together with VQAC, your assessor and the internal and external quality assurers, all have particular responsibilities in relation to your assessment.

As the learner, it is your responsibility to:

advise your assessor… 

through your meetings and ongoing communication, when you feel that you are ready to be assessed

collect your own evidence…

in relation to the standards with support and guidance from us when you request it

present this evidence…

in a way that is easily accessible and understandable to you assessor

advise your assessor…

if you are experiencing any problems in finding evidence or if it is difficult for you to be assessed during the normal course of your work

contact the VQ Assessment Centre…

if you change your contact details, are experiencing any problems with the assessment process or materials, are unable to progress your VQ programme for a period of time or to respond to us when we are checking on your progress 


It is VQAC’s responsibility to:

systems and ensure they are effective

quality assurance through the monitoring of assessment decisions

learners with complaints or appeals


It is the external quality assurer’s responsibility to:

support and advice to us and especially to internal quality assurers

clear and objective feedback to internal quality assurers and the awarding organisation

the use of our documents, procedures and systems to ensure they meet the requirements of the awarding organisation

that we are operating to agreed criteria
