Business and Administration

Business and Administration qualifications we offer


These work based qualifications have been introduced by the Council for Administration which is the Government’s recognised standard setting organisation for business skills at work. The qualifications were developed following extensive consultation with the business administration sector.

Level 2 Diploma in Business and Administration

The Level 2 Diploma is aimed at people already employed in an administrative role who want to develop their skills in providing routine and more complex administrative support. They provide an opportunity to develop understanding of and skills in more complex administrative support, perhaps supporting meetings and events or retrieving information. This certificate is aimed at people who can demonstrate how they work and communicate in any business environment and using a wide range of everyday administrative tasks such as, using diary systems, document production and supporting meetings.

Level 3 Diploma in Business and Administration

The Level 3 Diploma is aimed at people already employed in an administrative role with a high degree of autonomy.  They provide an opportunity to develop understanding of and skills in a wide range of administrative activities such as information management, event co-ordination and implementing procedures and systems. The Diploma is aimed at people who can demonstrate essential business skills such as decision-making, resource management and project management whilst showing how their work contributes to the wider strategy of their organisation or department.

Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration

The Level 4 Diploma is aimed at people who are employed in a role with administrative management responsibilities.  It provides an opportunity to gain the skills to develop and implement administrative services that can be applied to a wide range of businesses and organisations.  The diploma is aimed at people who can demonstrate an understanding of management responsibilities through a range of activities such as resource management, negotiating, agreeing budgets and promoting innovation and change.
