H808 gives you the opportunity to:
consider differing perspectives on the use of eportfolios and assess their advantages and limitations;
appraise the usefulness of tools for personal and professional development;
engage with debates about professionalism in elearning practice;
build an example eportfolio to provide evidence of your own professional competencies.
Take H808 if you would enjoy a globally available course that combines:
a focus on developing practice in real contexts;
online discussion, debate and collaboration with students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Some of our students are currently working directly with learners in online or in blended contexts. Others are managers, who write and develop teaching and training packages. Most work in post-school education, while others are in the commercial sector. Individual and group activities provide opportunities for our students to relate what they learn to their own context of practice. The course involves intensive study over 20 weeks.
The Course Guide sets the scene, helping students to orient themselves to H808 in their first days of study.
The course in outline form. Future Course Calendars will be similar, showing minor date-changes to the schedule.
An audio introduction from members of the course team.
Technical note: The mp3 file will give better sound quality, but is bigger than the RealPlayer file. (If you are using a dial-up and the mp3 takes too long to download, we recommend the rm file; if that doesn't open, you may need to save it to your desktop first: right-click on the 'rm' link just above here; select 'Save target as'; save to desktop; double-click on new icon on desktop. If you don't already have it you may need RealPlayer, which you can download from http://www.real.co.uk/ - click on the tab 'RealPlayer' at the top of their screen. On the next screen click on the text 'Download the Free RealPlayer Only'.
