Flexible online courses in travel planning
Currently, we offer two travel planning courses which can be studied on their own or as part of a Certificate in Travel Planning.
Certificate in Travel Planning - Sponsored by Transport for London
With financial support from Transport for London, the Open University is developing an accredited vocationally related qualification (VRQ) in travel planning, of which Introduction to travel planning will be a part. The level 5 qualification consists of four units:
· Introduction to travel planning (30 hours)
· Travel plan development (40 hours)
· Social marketing (30 hours)
· How to design and analyse surveys (30 hours)
Overall, the certificate will involve 130 hours of learning time, including guided and independent study and assessment, consisting of three 30-hour courses and one 40-hour course. There will be an additional charge for the award of the vocational certificate. The fee for the four-unit qualification is £70 and it will be reviewed on an annual basis.
The Certificate, as well as being a qualification in its own right, is designed to provide a pathway to further qualifications; for example, as an entrance qualification for a related masters course.
