Section 1: Aussprache und im Klassenzimmer
Aussprache und im Klassenzimmer
Aussprache: ei and ie
'Ei' and 'ie' are one of the pitfalls of German pronunciation: 'ei' (for example in Nein, mein) is pronounced like English 'I' and 'ie' (for example in Wiedersehen, sie) is pronounced like English 'e'. A mnemonic some English speaking students of German use is 'ei' say 'I' and 'ie' say 'e'. Look at the words below and read them out. Then listen to the audio clip and repeat.
zwei - drei - mein - nein!!
Wie? - Sie - sieben - Auf Wiedersehen, Frau Siebert!
Im Klassenzimmer
Übung A
Listen to a dialogue in a classroom. The teacher holds up some pens and the children have to say how many. She does this three times. How many pens is she holding each time? Bitte schreiben Sie. |
Now listen again and speak along with the teacher. Try to imitate the pronunciation and intonation on the audio clip.
And, if you like, listen to a song teaching the numbers 1-10, Zehn Zahlen sind ein Lied (Ten numbers make a song). What else do you understand apart from the numbers?
AnmerkungDid you listen to the song? Maybe you noticed the following words or phrases von eins bis zehn (from one to ten), singen (to sing), zählen (to count), Mann (man), Frau (woman), Kind (child). |
Übung B
Listen to seven short dialogues and fill in the missing words. Read the dialogues out loud yourself, or speak along to the audio clip. Then think about how to use these dialogues in the classroom. Hören Sie, schreiben Sie und sprechen Sie. |
