I've got my degree, Hooray! and I'm so chuffed I want everyone to know as it wasn't predicted for a deaf person to pass in music. But I can't find the 'publicity' link I spotted earlier.

Of course I want the world to know, I whinged loud enough when it got difficult. Thank you for your patient and understanding support, without which I'd still be struggling.

So now, the ultimate challenge for a deaf person! Modern languages! Don't desert me, I still need you.

THANK YOU ALL

Regards

Alison

Declaring a disability

"I have been impressed by all the help I have been given. Because of my dyslexia assessment my dyslexia has become very much more manageable and I understand it much better - with the result that my spelling is much improved."

Staff

"I'm grateful for the support and consideration from my tutor."

"Three times this year I've received advice and guidance regarding learning aids and the staff were positive, polite and helpful. It's good to have that kind of help."

"I'd like to pass on my thanks to the invigilator for my home exam - and would like to have the same person in future if possible."

Residential school

"I had a wonderful time. Everything was done in a friendly, efficient and effective manner to make it such a good experience from first contact to discuss my needs to the the week itself. Thank you!"

“I would just like to say a very big thank you for all the support I received at last week’s residential school… thank you too for the loan of the scooter as that made a big difference to me…I am glad that I attended.”

“Can I send my deep gratitude to your team for the help, support and care given to me at this year’s residential school.  I managed to get through with much less pain and physical discomfort than expected … the experience has boosted my self confidence and morale.”

“I would like to say that the help and support from disability resources team and my assistant was invaluable to me.”

“The OU staff were at all times approachable and helpful – a credit to this exceptional organisation.”

"My assistant was brilliant! I know that if it wasn't for her I would have given up on the first night. I can never repay her enough for the help she gave me."

"I was entirely happy with everything. Thank you. The support I was given enabled me to make the most of the week and I benefited a lot from attending."

Accessible study materials

"Incredibly helpful - I could not complete the course without the audio recordings."

"Having the work read out made it easier to study and absorb the content. This form of study has aided my ability to study effectively."

"The new comb-bound books arrived here on Saturday, you cannot begin to understand the difference this will make to this term. Thank you!!!"

"Most useful - I have a spinal injury but can listen to audio while on bed rest."

"Thank you for sending alternative formats so early.  It is really helpful as it takes me a long time to read things with my bad sight."
