Who is eligible to apply for a DSA?

Colin Beesley (DSA Awards Officer): Well the eligibility criteria for DSAs are actually relatively simple. You would need to be studying a minimum of 30 credit points per year if you're studying in England, Wales or Northern Ireland. In Scotland that would need to be 60. You would also need to be studying towards a qualification of 60 points or more.

In addition, you would need to be resident in the UK at the time your course starts and have crucially a proven disability that qualifies you for DSA support. And what I mean by that is a long term medical condition or a specific learning difficulty that's likely to affect your ability to study on a day to day basis.

Man: To be eligible for a DSA you need to be a UK resident, have a proven disability, be studying towards a qualification of 60 credit points or more, and be studying a minimum number of credits per year. Check with your regional or national centre for details.
