Profile

Eric Addae-Kyeremeh is a Lecturer in Education (Leadership and Management) in the Faculty of Education and Language Studies (FELS). He is the module chair of E856 Educational Leadership, context, strategy and collaboration. Eric is the co-author of another Masters module E855 Leading Professional Practice in Education. He is a member of the Curriculum and Teaching Strategy Committe. His other roles in the Faculty include the role of academic reviewer responsible for the Arab OU Education Faculty where he provides academic support for the BEd (Hons) Secondary and Intermediate, MEd Leadership and Management & MEd Instructional Technology programmes.

Eric's work extends to the TESS-India (Teacher Education through School-based Support in India) Project, a UKAID funded initiative to develop a Pan-India network of people and resources to enhance the quality of existing teacher education and help the development of new teacher education courses across India. His role in this project is to co-lead the production of online-learning materials to support primary/elementary and secondary school leaders as well as teacher training institutions.

Prior to joining The OU in January 2011 Eric worked in different teaching, training and leadership roles in the education sector including a brief stint as an educational consultant. He co-chaired the Lambeth-Southwark consortium between 2008-2010 during which the consortium succeeded in piloting the Business Administration and Finance specialised diploma across both boroughs in London. He successfully led three Subject Sector Areas (SSAs) through OFSTED inspections in his roles as head of department (2004-2007) and head of school (2007-2010).

As a chartered IT Professional and Chartered Manager he has developed and delivered several high value training programmes notably the Leadership and Management CPD programme for London Borough of Southwark between 2008-2010. This programme was delivered to middle and senior managers who worked towards Chartered Management Institute’s (CMI) level three, five and seven professional qualifications in leadership and management.

As further evidence of Eric’s professional competence and credibility the Chartered Management Institute and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, have both admitted him into Fellowship.
