Faculty of Education and Language Studies
Faculty of Education and Language Studies > People Profiles > Perry Williams
My role in this job is to help the Faculty embed new technologies into its course models.
Prior to this, I was a PhD student at the Institute of Educational Technology, where I conducted research on learners’ experience of self-direction in e-learning.
Between 1994 and 2003, I was an author, designer and project manager for the development of bespoke education and training materials at the independent company Learning Materials Design (now LMD Learning Solutions). Projects on which I worked included the National Training Programme for New School Governors, the National Training Programme for Gifted and Talented Coordinators, and the Marie Curie Cancer Care BSc in Palliative Care / Cancer Care.
Between 1984 and 1993, I was an academic at the Cambridge University Department of History and Philosophy of Science, where I taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and published on the history of science, history of medicine, and women’s history.
