Annual reports and published data
Equality and Diversity Annual Report 2012
The University’s Equality and Diversity Annual Report 2012 provides information about significant achievements and developments in the past year. It provides insights on our work to mainstream equality across all our functions and on specific projects and activities that aim to advance equality and foster good relations.
This year, we have published a new style report, which we anticipate will make for a more engaging read. There are two in-depth sections, one on carers as students, and one on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. We also feature stories about our Securing Greater Accessibility project, our Aspire~ Leadership Programme, and our work to embed equality in the Research Excellence Framework.
The 8 monitoring reports provide a comprehensive set of tables and charts for governance, staff and students, across a wide range of participation and progress indicators at an institutional level.

Equality and Diversity Annual Report 2010
Faculties and administrative units across the entire University are recognised for their contribution to promoting equality of opportunity in the University’s Equality and Diversity Annual Report 2010. The report shows that 5 of our 6 student equality performance indicators set out in the Equality Scheme 2009-2012 are following the desired trend, while 10 of our 11 staff indicators are doing likewise.
The Summary Report provides details of progress against the key performance indicators, headlines from key trends analysis and a report and personal reflection from Derek Child, who retired as Head of Equality and Diversity in September. The Full Report highlights many of the equality-related initiatives and achievements of The Open University over the past year, providing a snapshot of the ways that staff across all parts of the institution work at different scales and in different contexts in their passion and genuine dedication to creating an inclusive institution. Eight Monitoring Reports provide a comprehensive set of tables and charts for governance, staff and students across a wide range of participation and progress indicators at an institutional level.
