How we make decisions

Major decisions about the management and academic work of the University are made by the Council and the Senate.

The Council is the University's executive governing body and is responsible for strategic planning, monitoring effectiveness and performance, finance, audit, estate management and human resource management.

The Senate is the academic authority of the University and is responsible for promoting the academic work of the University in teaching, learning and research and enterprise.

Copies of Council and Senate papers are available on request.  Please email Freedom of Information
