The Open University Development Office

In the Development Office we develop and implement the University’s fundraising strategy. We do this through building relationships with alumni, trusts, foundations and other potential benefactors to raise the profile of the University and secure much-needed philanthropic contributions in support of the University’s mission.

Based at our Walton Hall, Milton Keynes campus, we are responsible for relationship building with alumni and fundraising on behalf of the University.  We raise money through major gifts, one-off and regular giving to the annual fund, legacies and grants from trusts and foundations.

All donations to the University are managed in the most effective way to help deliver the University’s core aims:

• to promote educational opportunity and social justice by providing high-quality university education to all who wish to realise their ambitions and fulfil their potential.
• through academic research, innovations in teaching practices and collaborative partnership, to seek to be a world leader in the design, content and delivery of supported open and distance learning.
