This is a chance to look at a Community Service Volunteers project, based in Lancaster, which focuses upon the oral histories of former residents and staff of a large long stay hospital for people with learning difficulties. With support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, we are creating an online archive of these stories combined with photographs, documents and other ephemera relating to the life of the Royal Albert Hospital. In highlighting the work of the archive the presentation will review issues (practical, ethical and otherwise) encountered by the project during its development.
