Many volunteers in different parts of the country are carrying out investigations on the former residential care homes visited by Peter Townsend. We therefore decided to publish a series of newsletters throughout the life of the project in order to keep in touch with the volunteers, and to enable them to have up-dated progress reports about the research. We also wanted volunteers to have the opportunity to contribute to the newsletters themselves, for example by writing the stories of their own investigations.
The newsletters also give useful information to everybody interested in this project. They include items on the progress of the Follow-Up Study as well as the Tracing Study, both old and new photographs, and details about publications or conference presentations arising from the work.
