Research Career Development

The Research Career Development Support Team [internal link  http://intranet.open.ac.uk/research-school/researcher-development/index.shtml - staff login required] provides training and development opportunities for researchers at all stages of their career. This development is for postgraduate students, researchers and academic staff.

The team works with faculties and schools, research centres, disciplines and departments which include Human Resources, the Library, IT and others to provide a programme of activities, enhance the research capability of individuals and create a network of researchers. We have an institutional commitment to the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers which sets out the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, their managers, employers and funders. The Concordat aims to increase the attractiveness and sustainability of research careers in the UK and to improve the quantity, quality and impact of research for the benefit of UK society and the economy.
