25 April 2014
The Open University’s OER Research hub project has been awarded the 2014 Open Research Award of Excellence (ACE) by the Open Courseware Consortium (OCW). The award was made “in recognition of your continued efforts to promote the importance of online and open education through the OER Research Hub”.
“We are officially excellent!” was the response from Professor Martin Weller, Head of the OER Research Hub (OERRH), when he broke the news to the project team.
The award was presented to Bea de los Arcos, Beck Pitt, Rob Farrow and Leigh-Anne Perryman at the OCWC conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia on Thursday 24 April during the cocktail party.
Through its research, collaboration and dissemination activities, the OERRH has been working towards building a global picture of the impact of OER on learning and teaching practices. It is with much excitement and gratitude to all its research collaborators that the OERRH received this award.
