What research questions the project addresses, aims & themes
LACE aims to integrate research, policy and practice in learning analytics and educational data mining across Europe, bringing together researchers, practitioners and software providers.
How the research questions are addressed by the project (methodology and activity/environment)
The emphasis is on community building. There are a range of activities to bring together the key stakeholders. These include: a programme of events, both physical and online; the creation and curation of a knowledge base of evidence; the development of plausible futures; and contributions to the development of relevant standards.
Findings and outputs
None yet – the project is in its very earliest stages. Outputs will start to appear at the project website in early 2014.
The project will build a community of practice across Europe and beyond, and has the potential to help lay the foundations for the field for some time to come.
