The Master of Research (Educational Technology) programme is designed to give graduates a solid foundation in research methods, both qualitative and quantitative. The MRes is designed to comply with the training requirements specified by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for postgraduate research.
Students learn about a variety of qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods, including
- Survey techniques
- Discourse analysis
- Experimental designs
- Statistical methods
The training provided allows students to develop their 'transferable skills' such as
- Report writing
- Project management
- Oral presentation
- Interviewing
- The use of electronic bibliographic resources
