Abstract
Professor Engin Isin (POLIS, OU) will discuss the social category of 'activist intellectuals' and compare it to that of 'public intellectuals' by setting out the differences between the two, based on their assumptions about the very meaning and function of knowledge production. With this distinction in mind, he will then reflect on the meaning of impact.

Professor Isin will be joined by discussant Professor Suman Gupta (Literature and Cultural History, OU).
