Abstract
The seminar will provide an overview of three frames for research and innovation funding and policy. The first – based on assumptions about the relatively linear progression of R&D to innovation – and second – based on innovation systems – are well established. The third, however, is much more recent and experimental in nature. It grapples with concerns about the direction as well as pace of innovation and is being developed in the context of a consortium. Professor Jo Chataway will therefore introduce the Transformative Innovation Policy Consortium (TIPC), explaining its current membership and operation.
