What I didn't know and I know now after having started working, as an academic is that you need, as a lecturer, teacher, to be able to accommodate the needs of all the students. And these needs differ. Each student has different method of learning.
Some people find iteasier to look at Powerpoint presentations. Others don't find this very helpful. So as teachers and lecturers we need to be able to balance those needs. Now how to do that is a very demanding task, but now education as a discipline has advanced so much, that I think we can benefit from the research being done in these areas.
