A student that has had to overcome various barriers to their learning, at a range of stages in their education, this kind of bigger prize of successfully completing a degree, is going to be a big motivator for them. And because they've got things to overcome in addition to the challenges that the education presents anyway, yes, I think they are inherently motivated to do well. And from my very limited experience, the students that I've come across with additional needs have been motivated students. They haven't been the lazy students that don't turn up and don't complete pieces of work.
