Misia

I often say to students - you come into this lecture and you will have experiences of things that I have no knowledge of. Because, guess what, I wasn't an ice skater, or I wasn't a rock climber. So I don't have an understanding of those sports. But you bring fantastic things, which we can learn from each other. And you'll come from different cultures and you'll bring something. So I emphasise that across the board, regardless. And if it's a student with disabilities, they also bring unique experiences that we can all benefit from. For example, Sarah was an Olympian, so we were talking about the Olympics and what it feels like to do international competition. There she is, telling us what it's like. What she had to go through. How it felt for her. And it's no different for her than it is for any other student who's walked through these doors, who ended up as being an Olympian.
