Misia

If you look within any module, in Sports Sciences, there'll be lectures, there'll be workshops - where there's opportunity for people to talk.

So there will be visual material, video - because some people are visual learners in words and some people like pictures. A lot of our students are kinaesthetic learners, not surprisingly, they're sports people, they're athletes. They like doing things. They like expressing things through their bodies, so the labs are hugely important for them. The practical sessions - the workshops - where they try stuff out. Certainly I've encouraged staff to use that broad range and also get staff to have an understanding that actually standing up there and just giving a lecture's probably not going to work for everybody - in fact it's probably going to work for a very small, you know, number of people. But it's about how you enhance it. How you get students to also understand, that in a sense, the lecture is just a jumping off point.
