Copyright: Using Third-Party Content in Your Thesis

 

Session description: 

This session will provide an overview of copyright and your thesis responsibilities. It will cover copyright basics, Creative Commons licences, how to use content licensed by Creative Commons and other open access materials, and why thinking about copyright early on in the process will assist with the publication of your thesis in our Open Research Online repository. 

 

Learning Objectives: 
  • To gain an understanding of what copyright is and its importance to your thesis.

  • Knowledge of Creative Commons and open access content, and where to find them. 

  • How to seek permission to use copyrighted content.

 

Target audience: 

Postgraduate Research Students, Research Staff and Research Support Staff.
