Maureen George demonstrates the PET machine and describes its use by students at Brunei University. Cooper briefly shows us the APPLE 2 micro-computer. Cooper lists four tasks facing education with respect to information technology. Interview with David Firnberg, managing director of a company with interests in the use of new technology in education. Firnberg outlines his optimistic view of the future spread of microtechnology and computing. He argues that beneficial social changes are a likely consequence. Cooper interviews Barry Sherman of ASTMS, who is author of the book The Collapse of Work. Sherman explains why he believes the new technology may well have detrimental effects upon the workforce. He argues that future developments may well force changes in our educational system. Studio discussion involving Cooper, Sherman and Firnberg.
