How do I personalise MyOpenLibrary?

This service is in the process of being withdrawn, although there are still some modules currently using it.

Personal Information
1. Go to your MyOpenLibrary home page.
2. Select 'My Profile'. This allows you to alter personal information.

• 'First name': Within this section you can change your first name.
   
• 'Discipline': Lists all the modules with MyOpenLibraries. If you are studying more than one module, use this drop down list to select the code of your other module(s). Select 'Update'. On the next screen select either 'Replace' to view the MyOpenLibrary for that module or 'Merge' to merge the content of the two MyOpenLibraries.
   
• 'Email address' and 'Can contact': You have the option to provide the MyOpenLibrary team with your e-mail and give permission for them to contact you. This would be used to alert you to new resources which may be of interest. We are careful not to send too many alerts.

  Customising Layout
  You can customise the layout and colours of your MyOpenLibrary page. This may be useful for accessibility reasons. Use 'Customise Layout' to change layout, colour and onscreen title preferences for resource headings, banners, text and links.
  1. Go to your MyOpenLibrary home page.
  2. Select 'Customise Layout'.
  3. Use the Template drop down list to change the layout from existing template e.g. 'dark_blue' to 'columns', 'classic' (boxes) or 'simple' (lists resources down the page).
  4. Use the other drop down boxes to change the 'Banner colour', 'Background colour', 'Text colour' and 'Link colour'.
  5. Use the 'Title' option to change the title from "MyOpenLibrary" to preferred title for your personal page.
  6. Use 'Submit' to save the changes and return to MyOpenLibrary.

  To return to the original settings select 'Re-instate defaults', you will automatically return to the home page.
